What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $157,385-267,012/year. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $200,000-230,000/year, based on experience and education. Location & Schedule
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work 3 days per week on site at Denver International Airport, Gateway Office, 4347 Airport Way, Denver, CO 80239. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

DEN is seeking a Senior Vice President of Business Operations to join our team. As a senior leader at DEN, you play a crucial role in ensuring that you and your division(s) are contributing to defining and executing DEN’s Vision 100 strategic plan along with support of city values. This is achieved by establishing, championing, and developing employee accountability, and demonstrating behaviors that build a culture of belonging, encourage employee engagement, and promote DEN’s guiding principles within the work of your division.
Key responsibilities will include:

Annual Workplan Implementation: Development, execution, and management of an annual workplan that details portfolio and/or division-level strategic goals and associated outcomes.

Optimizing Employee Performance: Ensure all employees within the portfolio have timely annual performance goals and expectations that accurately align to team, division, and goals and drive towards outcomes.

Support Risk Management in identifying adaptation strategies for critical assets and operations vulnerable to climate change.
-
Implementation of Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (ROCIP 5) to support continued growth of DEN.
-
Support the Division Procurement Team and ensure everyone has access to and knows how to utilize existing technology to its fullest extent. Select vendor to provide Procurement Software upgrade and consolidate all systems into one tool to manage the procurement process, reduce manual data entry, keystroke errors, time and complexity.
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

Senior leadership background in one or more of the following: Procurement and contract administration, Risk management and safety, Business operations, construction safety management

Excellent leadership skills; strong commitment to coaching, mentoring, and developing future leaders

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects, procurements, and contract lifecycles in complex environments

Proven success leading process improvement initiatives that reduce cycle time while maintaining compliance and quality

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Strong time management, prioritization, and decision-making skills across competing demands

Takes initiative and has the ability to get things done while being cool under pressure
Required Minimum Qualifications
-
Education requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to the specific functional or operational area.

Experience Requirement: Five (5) years of leadership experience, which must have included director-level management responsibilities.

One (1) year of management experience must include budget and fiscal oversight responsibility, evaluation of business processes, and policy and decision making experience with planning and organizing multiple programs, projects, operations or functions.

Education/Experience Equivalency: Two (2) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
-
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application.
