Position Summary
Triple Crown Sports is seeking a dynamic and versatile Sports Information Coordinator to serve as the editorial voice and media engine behind our growing event and brand portfolio. This role combines the creativity of an editorial writer with the polish of a public relations professional and the digital savvy of a content strategist. You’ll be the connective tissue between our live events, media platforms, athletes, and fans—crafting narratives, managing press engagement, and contributing to the success of the TC Network.
Key Responsibilities
π Editorial & Content Creation
β Write feature stories, athlete/coach spotlights, event previews, and post-event recaps for all divisions (Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Basketball, etc.)
β Create scripts for livestream segments, highlight reels, and athlete interviews for the TC Network
β Draft engaging, voice-consistent copy for social media, newsletters, email campaigns, and press releases
β Assist in internal communication projects (CEO messages, quarterly updates, etc.) as well as managing independent contractors and freelancers
π£ Media & Public Relations
β Serve as the primary media contact for Triple Crown Sports events
β Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national sports media
β Coordinate press access, interview opportunities, and media kits at events
β Distribute timely press releases and official statements
π Digital Integration & Content Strategy
β Partner with the digital team to ensure written content aligns with social and video strategies
β Collaborate on content calendars and thematic storytelling arcs for each event season
β Track and evaluate content performance across platforms and adjust based on analytics
ποΈOn-Site Event Presence
β Attend and cover major Triple Crown events nationwide and in Mexico – multiple times a year.
β Collect real-time quotes, stories, stats, and visuals from athletes and coaches
β Liaise with event directors and sponsors for storytelling opportunities and brand integration
β Support livestream talent with scripts, bios, and feature narratives
Qualifications
Required:
β 3–5 years experience as a college SID or in sports journalism, media relations, communications, or a related field at a collegiate level or higher
β Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
β Comfort working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
β Proficiency in digital publishing tools & websites (Webflow, HubSpot, Canva and/or Adobe a plus)
β Willingness to travel for events (~40% of the year)
β Experience with AI tools such as (but not limited to) ChatGPT, Opus Clip, Grammarly, and CapCut
Preferred:
β Experience working in sports media, at a professional sports team front office, or with live TV broadcasts
β Familiarity with high school/collegiate sports and athlete development pathways
β Ability to write for different platforms (long-form, social, video scripts, etc.)
β Understanding of AP style and journalistic ethics
