About The Role – 30612 – Vice President – Marketing, North America
Location – Centennial, Colorado, USA
Orica is seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Marketing & Strategy for its North America business. This senior leadership role will drive the region’s strategic marketing initiatives, focusing on growth, market expansion, brand positioning, product architecture, and competitive advantage in the mining and resources sectors. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategy formulation and execution, a deep understanding of the industry landscape, and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious objectives. What you will be doing
Strategic Leadership
• Develop and lead Orica’s North America marketing strategy, aligning with corporate objectives to ensure market leadership and sustainable growth.
• Define and implement strategies that drive competitive positioning, customer value proposition, and brand differentiation.
• Identify and evaluate market trends, opportunities, and threats, providing insights to guide business decisions.
• Lead the annual strategic planning process, including market analysis, growth strategies, and resource allocation.
Market Expansion & Business Development
• Drive regional business development initiatives, exploring and capturing new markets, channels, and product applications.
• Collaborate with technology & innovation (T&I), manufacturing, sales, and operations teams to prioritize growth initiatives and implement go-to-market strategies that support new product launches and service offerings.
• Foster relationships with key industry stakeholders, partners, and customers to promote Orica’s leadership position in the North American market.
Product Category Management & Offer Architecture
• Oversee product category management, ensuring optimal product mix and alignment with market demand.
• Develop and refine product offer architecture, creating a cohesive and competitive product portfolio that addresses customer needs and market gaps.
• Work closely with T&I, sales, and operations to drive product lifecycle management, including introductions, enhancements, and phase-outs to maximize market relevance and profitability.
Competitor Analysis & Market Intelligence
• Conduct ongoing competitor analysis, including benchmarking, product comparisons, and pricing strategies to inform Orica’s positioning.
• Oversee customer research, market intelligence, and data analytics to better understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitor movements.
• Ensure actionable insights inform product development, customer experience, and overall strategic direction.
• Design and execute programs that enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction, positioning Orica as the preferred partner in the industry.
Brand Management & Communications
• Lead the development and execution of brand management strategies, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all channels.
• Oversee external and internal communications, including media relations, public affairs, and digital marketing to strengthen Orica’s brand reputation.
• Champion the Orica brand, ensuring alignment with corporate values and standards across the region.
Team Leadership & Development
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing and strategy team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
• Drive talent development, succession planning, and performance management within the marketing organization.
• Ensure team alignment with Orica’s values, strategic priorities, and performance expectations.
What you will bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Strategy, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in marketing, strategy, or business development roles, ideally within the industrial, mining, or resources sectors.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, market analysis, product category management, and offer architecture.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
• Analytical mindset, with proficiency in utilizing data and insights to drive decision-making.
• Exceptional communication skills, with expertise in brand management, public relations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong results orientation.

Compensation Range
• $190,000 – $240,000 USD
• Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan
(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
