This position is part of the R6-Branch of Refuge Education and Visitor Services. As a Visual Information Specialist you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and assistance to Education and Visitor Services (EVS) and other Region 6 National Wildlife Refuge Service staff on publication designs.

Analyze the program for gaps and develops appropriate guidance, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
Coordinate with appropriate field stations and other offices to collect and summarize regional data for annual reports.
Develop region-specific guidance to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the program's procedures and operating systems.
Design, develop, and update publications and other graphic products. This includes brochures, rack cards, tear sheets, manuals, flyers, notepads, simple signs, portable exhibits and other products, using current desktop publishing software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud programs).
Edit various texts for publications and other graphic products for grammar, punctuation, and clarity.
Maintain digital and hard copy archive files for graphic products.
Manage printing for the Region 6 Refuge System program, including managing the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) contracts, providing cost estimates for all printing projects, coordinating prints and reprints of publications, managing the GPO Deposit Account for EVS, and serving as the point of contact between GPO and the Fish and Wildlife Service.
