The focus of this position is to ensure all onsite staff are trained and following procedure and to guarantee that every event is appropriately staffed and executed.

Lead and manage the following direct reports:

  • Staffing Manager—(Responsible for recruiting/hiring/onboarding all onsite staff team members and scheduling of all onsite staff)
  • Training Manager—(Responsible for recruiting/hiring/onboarding of event managers, event chefs, and certified trainers and training of all onsite staff)
  • Develop and implement training programs for all new and current service staff; ensures staff training programs are implemented and measured regularly
  • Participates in the operations meeting to collaborate with operations and culinary to ensure execution of each event can be achieved at the highest level; ensures each event has been staffed properly with the correct talent
  • Conducts regular meetings with the Event Designers, Hospitality Managers, Director of Operations, and Chef de Cuisine as well as the General Manager to continuously evaluate strategies and ideas for enhancements to benefit the guests’ experience
  • Monitors onsite execution of By Design Collective’s standards
  • Develop and implement process management of recruitment to ensure that the employee pipeline is full and the workforce is available for all events
  • In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, ensure that Employee manuals are current and relevant
  • Manage the budget for service staff department



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • 8+ years in catering or hotel banquet industry
  • 5+ years’ senior leadership experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in planning and implementing event details
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to commit to an average work week of 50+ hours, which will require weekend and evening hours
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation for multiple locations at all times of the day
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal


  • Experience in a company with over 200 employees
  • Significant experience in the hospitality industry
  • Staffing and training experience
  • Experience as member of upper level management
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
