Position Summary

This position supports the communications and social media functions of the association and is key to communications with our members and raising our social media profile with both members and prospects.  

 

Major Areas of Responsibility 

  • Social Media
  • Weekly and monthly E-newsletters
  • Internal communications
  • Website maintenance

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Communications

  • Create and send a weekly E-newsletters and monthly Chapter E-Newsletters, President’s E-Newsletter, YPN E-newsletter and Ag Student E-newsletter
  • Update all social media websites – LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter (others as needed)
  • Update association website and create chapter websites using preformed templates
  • Find and share stories in the membership communities that pertain to them

Success Measures

  • Timely and accurate social media postings
  • Timely and accurate delivery of e-newsletters
  • Increase in online member engagement
  • Timely processing of customer requests

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of effective customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Ability to post information on social media sites and the internet.  Knowledge of the latest trends in marketing on-line, including:  Survey Monkey, Website CMS systems or WISIWIG Editors,  Social Media, Photo editing.  Knowledge of HTML helpful
  • Proficiency with Constant Contact, Google Analytics, and Hootsuite
  • Impeccable skills in use of the English language, both verbal and written
  • Must be confident and comfortable interacting and communicating with members and staff
  • Strong attention to detail a must
  • Knowledge of office equipment such as copiers and postage machines
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet production timelines

 

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma required.  Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, English or similar field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hands-on marketing/communications support role required, including internet marketing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, Constant Contact, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram
