Colorado Academy (CA) is seeking a full-time Advancement Associate to join the School’s fundraising team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a creative and collaborative life-long learner who brings a data-forward, donor-centric approach to advance fundraising initiatives and deepen donor relationships. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities that support all facets of the Advancement Department’s efforts, including annual giving, alumni relations, special events, and capital campaigns. This role will have a particular focus on data analysis and interpretation, reporting and metrics, integration of fundraising tools and technology to optimize donor engagement. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of fundraising dynamics to drive growth and strengthen donor relationships. The Advancement Associate reports to the Director of Advancement and supports efforts of the Advancement team throughout all its fundraising functions.
Essential Functions
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
- Provides general support to the Advancement team, including preparation of donor meeting materials, general correspondence, maintaining prospect and pipeline lists and tracking systems.
- Conducts constituent research and prepares donor profiles and other meeting materials in support of front-line fundraisers.
- Works alongside fundraisers to ensure donor and prospect interactions are documented within Raiser’s Edge database, and assists with meeting follow-up activities.
- Maintains Advancement Team Stewardship Plan, makes weekly gratitude calls and supports the team’s overall cultivation and stewardship activities and strategies.
- Manages a small portfolio of donors, with a primary focus on engagement and stewardship.
- Updates portfolios for Advancement team, Head of School, and Board of Trustees.
Data Analytics, Management & Strategy Development
- Implements and maintains fundraising tools including Raiser’s Edge NXT, GiveCampus, Almabase, Omatic, Double the Donation and any other additional fundraising-oriented systems.
- Collaborates with the Advancement team to develop data-driven insights, analyze constituent data and produce recommendations to enhance fundraising initiatives and inform donor strategies.
- Builds reporting through integrated fundraising tools and supports the evaluation of fundraising initiatives.
- Partners with the Director of The CA Fund to track and evaluate Annual Fund analytics based on industry standards.
- Uses data to segment donor lists and target specific groups for tailored fundraising campaigns.
- Manages efficient reporting systems and materials for the Advancement Team, the Head of School and Board of Trustees, including pulling monthly revenue and portfolio activity reports.
- Partners with Advancement Operations Manager to streamline and standardize best practices in data management and to maintain documentation on all fundraising systems, processes and procedures.
- Provides back up to Advancement Operations Manager on gift processing, acknowledgements and reconciliation of gifts.
Other
- Provides training and support to staff on data related tools and practices, staying up to date on industry trends and best practices.
- Be open to taking on special projects and supporting on- and off-campus events including occasional weekend and evening work.
- Assists with mailings, event logistics, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Partners with a diverse range of stakeholders, volunteers, and colleagues to support CA’s mission and strategic goals.
Requirements
- A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience working with non-profit organizations, particularly those with diverse and widespread constituencies (preferably in Advancement / Development).
- Be a resourceful, goal-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a high degree of creativity, integrity, flexibility, focus, discretion, sound judgment, and respect for confidentiality and data security.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to be extremely accurate and consistent with data/record keeping.
- Must be able to manage simultaneous priorities effectively, with exceptional judgment and integrity.
- Must be a strategic thinker capable of developing, implementing and coordinating policies and procedures related to data management.
- Ability to analyze data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a successful track record of working effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of constituencies, and being willing to accept direction and feedback when appropriate.
- High level of proficiency with technology including Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge (or a similar fundraising CRM); Microsoft Office’s Excel and Word; Google’s Drive, Docs, and Sheets; and more.
- Deep interest in building trust and authentic relationships with CA’s community.

The pay range for this for the position is $30 – $34/hour. Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any discrepancies that may exist do not relate to sex.
