The Town of Hudson, Colorado, is seeking a Police Chief for this growing Front Range community located in Weld County, about 30 miles northeast of Denver. Located at the junction of Interstate 76 and State Highway 52, the town offers a distinctly rural setting of farms, open fields, and wide plains while remaining within easy reach of the Denver metropolitan area. The Town of Hudson is a full-service home-rule municipality serving approximately 1,640 residents across nearly 2.3 square miles with a 2026 budget of $17.7 million and a team of 34 FTEs.
THE HUDSON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Established in 2019, the Hudson Police Department is a municipal law enforcement agency protecting the Town of Hudson. The Department operates with a 2026 budget of $2.6 million and responded to nearly 10,000 calls for service in 2025—reflecting a 150% increase in call volume over the past four years. The Department is staffed by 11 sworn officers and 3 unsworn staff, with additional support from 2 part-time victim advocates and a reserve chaplain.
