We're on the hunt for a dynamic Program Officer to join our trailblazing team at Colorado Gives Foundation, where we're dedicated to igniting transformation across Colorado! As a Jefferson County grantmaker, we aim to empower nonprofits and amplify their voices, channeling over $9 million annually to fuel their noble endeavors.

Our commitment to your success is enhanced by our competitive compensation of $80K-$90K base salary, depending on experience, and you will be eligible for an annual bonus. What You’ll Do:
As the Program Officer, you will implement and measure how well our philanthropic tools achieve stated goals. Our philanthropic tools include grantmaking, data/research, convening, collaborating, policy/advocacy, and impact investing. As part of the community impact team, the program officer's work will contribute to our vision that all of Jeffco is thriving.
 
You Should Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent years of experience 
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience working with one or more of the following: diverse communities, nonprofit organizations, management, philanthropy, grantmaking, and/or program evaluation 
  • Solid communication skills and adept at public speaking, persuasive writing, and interpersonal interactions, ensuring clarity and brevity.
  • Ability to be a versatile team player who excels independently and collaboratively, fostering relationships and achieving high-performance standards.
  • Detail-oriented, proficient in informal and formal written communication, and keen eye for detail and completion from inception to execution.
  • Community-focused with skills in identifying needs, co-creating solutions, and executing projects while actively engaging with stakeholders and anticipating future requirements.

 
Your Duties And Responsibilities as the Program Officer will include the following:
Community Engagement:

  • Use community listening to inform programs aligned with our impact goals.
  • Foster relationships with nonprofits and stakeholders.
  • Act as a spokesperson for philanthropic opportunities.

Grantmaking:

  • Support program development aligned with community needs.
  • Manage emergent and responsive philanthropic efforts.
  • Identify areas where philanthropic tools can support impact goals.
  • Review and recommend grant awards based on alignment with impact goals.
  • Coordinate community review processes for grant opportunities.

Learning and Progress Monitoring:

  • Assess grant progress regularly.
  • Review impact reports and troubleshoot project issues.
  • Track impact metrics for future planning.
