Editorial Intern

Editorial intern for quarterly travel magazine. The magazine is placed in rooms of hotels throughout Denver, as well as around the state. Editorial content is geared toward visitors to Colorado. In addition to general writing, the qualified candidate will compile and assemble editorial calendars and writeups of new restaurants and entertainment establishments.

Creative Services Intern

5280 offers a three month design internship within the company’s in-house design team. Internships are hands-on and involve a variety of responsibilities as well as the opportunity to work regularly with the advertising, marketing, and events departments. This person will assist with ad campaigns, event collateral, marketing initiatives, and much more. In addition to design responsibilities, this person will help with overflow admin work and provide production assistance as needed.

As part of the program, interns will take part in training sessions conducted by various members of the advertising and marketing teams to gain a first-hand grasp on the world of publishing. Interns are also given the opportunity to collaborate with members of design and marketing to refine their portfolio and set them up for success in the future job search.

Public Relations Intern

Help educate the public about the benefits of skiing and snowboarding and taking professional lessons. The Public Relations Intern is responsible for assisting the marketing department with day-to-day activities such as copywriting, digital marketing, education marketing, media relations, public relations, and more.

WorldDenver International Visitor Leadership Program

Internship Objective: The intern will obtain first-hand knowledge of U.S. Government public diplomacy initiatives and objectives, as well as government sponsored educational, cultural and leadership development programs. The purpose of this internship is for an intern to learn about preparing a professional exchange program between the international visitor(s) and the local community.

Skills and Training Provided: Interns will be provided with the opportunity to develop and expand communication skills, including professional correspondence, and learn how to analyze complex data. Training opportunities include internal trainings (such as in-office staff training events), Lunch n’ Learns, Denver World Affairs Council speaker events, etc.

Activities: Under the direction and supervision of WorldDenver staff, interns will learn the details of what is involved in arranging an international visitor program, such as research, planning logistics, and engaging with the local community. Interns will have the opportunity to attend appointments with international professionals and assist with correspondence and maintenance of program webpages. Interns will acquire an in depth understanding of complex systems and an appreciation of business practices, which will help to prepare him/her for success in a future career.
