Description
Purpose
Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of the Respiratory Care program. The Program Director will be an integral part of the student educational experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE); A master’s degree is preferred.
- Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.
- Have a minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
- Have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.
- Complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program upon hire.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work

Job Duties
Essential Functions
- Regular attendance and timeliness
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program
- Provides leadership and conducts necessary administrative functions for the effective operation of the Respiratory Care Program
- Coordination and formation of policies affecting the Respiratory Care Program.
- Responsible for the management and disbursement of the Respiratory Care budget
- Recommends and/or approves expenditures and book approval/orders for the Respiratory Care Program.
- Responsible for the development and evaluation of the Respiratory Care Program curriculum.
- Participates in the evaluation of student progress.
- Coordinates the preparation and approval of agreements with clinical agency. Prepares reports as required.
- Maintains records for completion of Respiratory Care Program 5-yr Review (Fort Hays Tech | North Central).
- Participates in recruitment procedures and coordinates the admission procedures for the Respiratory Care Program and the college.
- Maintains communication with appropriate professional organizations and attends meetings as required, representing the college and the program.
- Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations governing the program. Initiates, organizes, and maintains an advisory committee for the program. Conducts faculty meetings.
- Responsible for maintaining program accreditation and all reports necessary
- Supervises/Evaluates the Respiratory Care Program faculty members.

- Review relevant areas of the website and recommend changes to the supervisor
