UNDERWRITING SALES & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
KHEN is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with a passion for community and a knack for building relationships to head our underwriting sales and development. For over 20 years, KHEN has been a vital voice, broadcasting an eclectic mix of music, news, and cultural programming for Salida and Chaffee County. We’re proudly community-driven and amplify the incredible work of non-profits, businesses, artists, and organizations in the Arkansas River Valley. Our underwriting program is key to this work, providing operational funding for the station. In this crucial role, you'll help KHEN sustain and grow our underwriting network by managing our current contracts and and securing new partnerships. You’ll collaborate with our team to seek new businesses and ensure compliance with non-commercial broadcasting guidelines. You will also support the executive director in writing and seeking grant opportunities.
What you'll do:
● Solicit new underwriters and event sponsors.
● Create and maintain UW contracts and associated records.
● Ensure all underwriting and development activities comply with FCC and KHEN policies.
● Collaborate with KHEN staff to meet development goals.
● Help craft compelling marketing materials and scripts
● Seek grant opportunities and collaborate with staff to write grant applications
● Plan and project manage events

● Passionate about the opportunities, mission and goals of a community radio station.
● Possess strong community connections within our valley.
Compensation:
This is a flexible, part-time position for up to 30 hours per week with paid vacation and holidays. The base hourly rate for this position starts at $20/hour, but the final rate is dependent on experience and qualifications.
