Job Title: Grants Manager/Grant Writer
Job Summary
The Construction Education Foundation (CEF) is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Grants Manager / Grant Writer (independent contractor) to oversee the full spectrum of grants management for our organization. This role will lead the execution of all new and recurring applications, monitor compliance, and report outcomes to ensure the financial stability and growth of the agency. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and project management skills, a passion for philanthropy, a growth mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting critical missions, including experience with knowledge of workforce development funders and construction education initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Grants Management
- Develop a grant funding pipeline.
- Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals to secure new and existing funding opportunities from governmental, corporate, and traditional foundation sources.
- Develop and manage the grants calendar, ensuring adherence to deadlines and funder guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including program directors and leadership, to identify funding needs, and ensure successful grant outcomes.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with grant requirements, including the preparation of accurate and timely reports.
Programs Evaluation and Reporting
- Prepare and submit reports according to funder requirements, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with guidelines.
Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Produce grant status reports and updates for leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in grant writing, grants management, and compliance for nonprofit organizations.
- Workforce Development experience preferred.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for building effective relationships with funders and colleagues.
- Familiarity with donor databases, such as DonorPerfect, and the ability to manage detailed documentation.
- A growth mindset and enthusiasm for supporting missions that create lasting community impact.
Employment Type: Independent Contractor; Estimation of 10 hours per month
Location: Remote
Compensation: $55.00-$75.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.
Additional Information:
This salary range reflects market rates for similar roles in the Denver metropolitan area taking into account self-employment taxes, lack of benefits, and the flexibility of the arrangement.

CEF is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in central Denver. Our primary programs include Careers in Construction, through which we collaborate with high schools and educational institutions to provide pathways to careers in the construction trades, and our OSHA Training Institute Education Center provides safety training opportunities throughout a six-state region.

Work Environment
We are a small but growing team with passion and commitment to our mission. Our office and training center is based in Central Denver and our work hours are typically 8:00am to 4:30pm with occasional evenings and weekends or outside typical hours.
