Minimum salary is $65,000 per year.
8 hours per day, 260 days per year
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Support the Chief Communications Officer and Communications Department by contributing to all communication avenues for the district including websites, newsletters, social media, video content and coordinating department activities and events.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, web design/development or related field
*Experience managing multiple websites using a content management system (WordPress, Drupal, Wix, Square etc.)
*Experience in graphic design for digital and print applications (understand image resolutions, RGB vs. CMYK etc.)
*Experience managing social media, including content planning, creation and moderation, as well as batching content to different platforms, adapting content to different applications and using analytics to measure success
*Skilled in using Adobe products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
*Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds including local business and government leaders, families, and staff
*Excellent oral and written communication skills including proofreading and A.P. Style knowledge
*High level of creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to learn quickly
*Capability to work independently or collaboratively in a quickly changing environment
*Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
*Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities, including short and long-term projects
*Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Google Drive  
*Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
*Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
*Experience in web development (building websites, not just updating them or publishing blog posts) desired
*Understanding of HTML and CSS desired
*Understanding of SEO, Google Analytics and online marketing strategies desired
*Working knowledge of photography and best practices desired
*Familiarity with Canva desired
*Passion for supporting public education
*Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
*Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds desired
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Responsible for developing, organizing, producing, monitoring, coordinating, maintaining and updating website content and design for the district and school websites.
*Responsible for assisting in the production of graphics for district web and print media
*Stays up-to-date on design methods, trends and website standards
*Reviews District and school websites periodically to ensure relevance and accuracy of information.
*Provides training, advice, direction, problem resolution, and support (by phone, Zoom or in-person) to all school-based staff and departments in the district
*Sends out district-wide communications via Blackboard systems for district events and emergencies
*Analyzes and reports on data from website and newsletters to inform future communication strategies
*Manages, monitors, and maintains district and school social media accounts
*Collaborates with team in communications and marketing efforts within the district, including event planning and event photography
*Helps maintain district brand standards across all platforms
*Supports district efforts to support website accessibility and WAAG compliance
*Compose, edit and proofread all district publications
*Participate in professional organizations including Colorado School Public Relations Association
*Publish and maintain District Calendar on website
*Office-based role
*Performs other duties as assigned
