The Role:

The Community Engagement Manager will play a vital role in fostering exceptional customer service and building strong and strategic relationships within the community. This position requires a proactive approach to create memorable experiences for both the community and staff, support local initiatives, and engage in partnerships effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Community Impact Department with sponsorship contracts and relationships, ensuring a positive experience
  • Act as a brand ambassador with internal staff and external partners
  • Schedule and coordinate networking meetings to foster valuable business relationships
  • Attend events, conferences, and any networking opportunities for the district and build long-term partnerships/relationships. Actively participate in local boards and committees to represent TRPR
  • Coordinate and manage a wide range of outreach events in specific communities or for specific audiences
  • Conduct focus group sessions to gather insights on community perceptions from current/potential partners
  • Engage with potential customers and partners informing them on who TRPR is and what we have to offer
  • Assist the community and partners in getting to the appropriate team member for their inquiries
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service, encourages others to focus on the customers, and fosters an environment where customer service is a priority
  • Organize internal events such as staff breakfasts and celebrations for birthdays and anniversaries to foster team morale
  • Assist and coordinate special projects and events on behalf of the District as needed and assigned
  • Lead initiatives for basket donations to schools and collaborate with staff to coordinate support for education programs
  • Implement innovative strategies to enhance customer interactions and satisfaction
  • Go beyond standard service expectations to create exceptional experiences for all community members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • College degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ of successful track record of building relationships, and fundraising experience
  • Basic knowledge of the parks and recreation industry
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Knowledge in computer software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn the functions, structure, and organizational policies of the District
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues
  • Experience with budget management
  • Technical writing skills

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and possess above average physical mobility, strength, and agility. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires a high level of physical, emotional, and mental energy.

Environmental Consideration:

Requires considerable movement around the facility to monitor activities. Most work is performed indoors at the Milliken Athletic Complex. Requires sitting (or standing) at a desk 75% or more assigned shift in a busy office environment where noise and interruptions prevail. May be required to utilize cleaning materials and have contact with various chemicals for duties such as mopping, sanitizing down doors, equipment, and workstation.
