The Director or Partner of Communications will play a leadership role on our team by developing and executing our communications strategy through network building, digital storytelling and earned media. The role will focus on raising awareness of RootED’s work, elevating the impact of our grantee organizations, and ultimately influencing public attitudes around educational equity problems and solutions.

The Southwest Safehouse Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Safehouse and the supervision of staff and volunteers; responsible for the coordination of all program services to clients; responsible for community relations; develops and monitors annual budget in conjunction with the Division Director; prepares grant requests and reports for funding agencies as required; performs a variety of administrative duties in conjunction with the Division Director.
The Durango Community Shelter Program Manager is responsible for the operation of two programs, the 24-hour Durango Community Shelter program and the Veteran Transitional Housing Program (Grant Per Diem-GPD), including hiring, training and supervision of assigned staff, training and supervision of volunteers, scheduling of shifts, and program development. Ensures the timely response to the physical and emotional needs of shelter residents and Veteran service recipients.
This position works as part of a team of professionals to help residents know what opportunities are available and how to access resources when they want or need them. We are looking for candidates who know how to utilize traditional, non-traditional and digital media outlets, can align marketing efforts with the City’s overall brand, bring creativity and innovation to promoting department projects and initiatives, and have the ability to transcreate messages within multicultural communities.
