Summary
This position supports a wide range of engineering projects, including gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and water/wastewater systems. The team collaborates with construction and engineering professionals to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs that meet client expectations and project goals.
Description
Responsibilities
- Develop sketches, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and/or 3D models for power plant and industrial systems, including:
- Steam cycle systems
- Boiler feed and condensate systems
- Water treatment systems
- Fuel handling and conveying systems
- Hydraulic, heat transfer, air, and gas systems
- Review and check design deliverables for compliance with industry codes, standards, contract requirements, and company specifications.
- Adhere to project schedules and assigned tasks to ensure on-time, successful completion.
- Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and project team members to support progress, accuracy, and consistency across deliverables.
- Train and mentor junior designers, interns, or recent graduates as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related design experience in mechanical, industrial, or power systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Drafting and Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer applications.
- Experience using MicroStation, Autodesk, SmartPlant, or similar drafting/modeling software.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
