Summary

We seek an experienced Co- Associate State Director. The Co-Associate State Director (AD) will assist the State Director in the Colorado Chapter’s operation, administration, and strategic direction. The AD partners with the State Director & Co-Associate Director in planning, developing, and implementing organizing campaigns, and manages the day-to-day campaign activities and programs to advance the mission of 9to5. The AD assists in office management, fundraising, staff support, and development.

Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Strategic Campaign Development & Supervision
○ Design and manage large-scale campaigns on key issues for 9to5 Colorado
○ Develop strategic campaign goals and objectives
○ Work closely with organizers, members and other key stakeholders to ensure campaign success
○ Ensure grassroots campaigns are influencing policy agenda for 9to5 Colorado
○ Provide administrative support for campaign needs, including managing campaign budget, staff time, supplies, etc.
○ Report on campaign performance to State Director, 9to5 Senior Leadership, and funders as requested

● Program Development
○ Assist with the coordination of Community Justice Fellowship Program (CJFP) activities
○ Oversee staff execution of CJFP activities
○ Ensure staff are reporting CJFP outcomes, evaluating program effectiveness, and working with Co-Associate State Director

● Reporting & Data
○ Ensure data input from organizers, work with Comms/Data Coordinator on reporting

● Staff Supervision & Development:
Supervise, mentor, and coach organizers within the Chapter
Work closely with the National Organizing Director to identify internal and external training opportunities for organizing staff
Conduct annual performance reviews for staff under direct supervision

● Fundraising/ Financial Management:
○ Assist with the coordination of annual fundraising events
○ Supervise staff in fundraising activities
○ Monitor campaign budgets and spending related to key campaigns

Qualifications
● Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression and ability to work with diverse populations;
● At least four years of organizing experience with a community, labor, faith, or women’s organization.
● Proven ability to successfully manage projects and campaigns with limited supervision.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills.
● Experience with issue-based policy campaigns.
● Organizational leadership experience, including strategic planning.
● Ability to supervise, manage, and develop staff.
● Budgeting and reporting experience.
● Experience with grassroots fundraising/events/donor solicitation/earned income projects.
● Proficiency with Excel, Word, Google tools and various social media platforms.
Weekly in person attendance in Metro-Denver office and occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications:
● English/Spanish Bi-lingual candidates who are proficient in reading, writing and speaking in both languages will be highly considered.

This is a hybrid position that requires a combination of remote work and some weekly in-person attendance.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with a salary of $77,416.04, with generous family health insurance, employer retirement contribution, life insurance, and paid time off benefits including sick time, vacation time, personal time, and 10 paid holidays annually. The position is not in the staff bargaining unit.
