Description

The Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors – International (ACCED-I) seeks an experienced Director of Membership to join our amazing team of dedicated professionals. The right candidate will develop and implement strategies for the recruitment and retention of individual members, institutional members, and other professionals and corporations who support the collegiate hospitality industry. This position is responsible for developing, planning, and managing ACCED-I's membership initiatives and processes, producing regular membership metrics reports, and creating new member programs and services. This position is also responsible for creating and implementing marketing plans and activities that support membership programs and services.

Duties will include:

  • Analyze market data on demographics, membership trends, and other available information to determine member and potential member needs and design and/or revise membership strategies and programs based on that information.
  • Build relationships with regional leadership to enable increased local recruitment and retention.
  • Maintain high quality and consistent information about members in ACCED-I’s association management system.
  • Advise regional leaders in development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies, programs, and projects that enhance the recruitment and retention of members.
  • Manage exhibit sales, expo floor (25-35 booths), and corporate sponsorships for Annual Conference.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in non-profit membership recruitment and retention, marketing, and volunteer relations.
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Strategic thinker, highly organized, and detail oriented.
  • A good communicator who is able to inspire and rally volunteers and staff to increase membership.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with expertise in managing multiple projects through competing and conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of marketing to develop appropriate membership strategies and goals.
  • Experience working with volunteer committees.
  • Proficient in MS Office and data management systems; experience in association management systems, YourMembership platform a plus.
  • The ability to travel occasionally around the US to attend events and the Annual Conference in March.
  • Collaborative mindset.
