Assistant Director of Presidential Engagement

The Assistant Director of Presidential Engagement manages events and top donor engagement opportunities from conception through completion on behalf of CSU’s Office of the President. Reporting to the Director of Presidential Engagement, the Assistant Director’s ultimate responsibility is to ensure excellence in the production of events and the associated constituent experience in support of CSU’s overall engagement strategy. This includes establishing a meaningful purpose and measurable outcomes for each event, developing a strategic communication plan in alignment with those goals, and conducting post-event analysis to evaluate success. The Assistant Director helps lead the development and execution of top donor engagement strategy and works collaboratively across the University to accomplish goals.

Description of Work Unit
Colorado State University is waiting for YOU! University Advancement Engagement is fundamental to the success of CSU’s fundraising and engagement efforts, providing overall strategy and tactical execution in the areas of constituent experience, donor recognition, gift stewardship, philanthropic communications and University-wide, advancement and presidential events. Through collaboration that transcends organizational lines, UA Engagement’s four distinct and mutually supporting units – CSU Events, Donor Relations & Stewardship, Presidential Engagement and Advancement Communications – establish CSU as a destination for philanthropy through exceptional engagement, experiences and communications.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director helps lead the development and execution of top donor engagement strategy and works collaboratively across the University to accomplish goals.

Guest Outreach Manager

e Guest Outreach Manager (GOM) is responsible for managing the guest experience from invitation to arrival by overseeing all projects and functions related to event communications and guest relations. The GOM ensures that event marketing and communications materials are delivered in a timely manner to guests while adhering to University brand standards and best practices. This includes the management of event marketing and invitation timelines, graphic design resources, content generation and print production. This person will produce written and oral communications for the CSU Events team, as well as ensure consistent verbal and visual messaging from all college and unit partners. The GOM is also responsible for oversight of the CSU Events Guest Relations team. The GOM provides leadership and direction to the Guest Relations Specialist and the team of frontline student workers who interface directly with donors and guests.

To be successful in this position, the GOM will be comfortable working in a fast paced, high volume environment, while maintaining a high degree of organization and accountability around project completion.

The GOM will be comfortable working with a team to accomplish collective goals, communicating in a collaborative and transparent manner that allows all members of the team to stay informed. The GOM will have a firm understanding of trends in event marketing and guest outreach, with particular focus around the operational execution of those trends. The GOM will identify opportunities to delegate and assign work, while also playing an active role in completing and moving projects through the workflow. A successful GOM will independently look for and identify efficiencies on an ongoing basis, and will take responsibility for modifying processes and procedures to obtain the most efficient outcomes.

Specialist, Communications

Provides public information and marketing support to the Utilities service area, with special emphasis on marketing, social media and electronic communications.
