Description
Responsibilities:
• Conduct the full range of activities to prepare, submit, and manage LOIs/grant proposals/reports and budgets/financial reports to foundation, faith community, and corporate sources.
• Perform prospect research to evaluate prospects for LOI/grant submission.
• Work with our Nica-based team to provide written and financial reports to funders.
• Build relationships with Nicaraguan staff to support information sharing and timely achievement of deadlines.
• Communicate proactively with Nicaraguan and US staff.
• Provide stewardship to current funders with regular updates.
• Maintain current records in Salesforce, including grant tracking and reporting.
• Track relevant program/country statistics and trends relevant to our programs.
• Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
Experience, Skills, and Attributes:
• Strong written communication skills: writes clear, structured, and persuasive proposals
• Strong editing skills
• Attention to detail
• Meets deadlines
• Works independently
• Competency with Office programs, particularly Word and Excel
• Previous experience with Salesforce appreciated
• Experience with successful proposal writing
• Experience with a broad array of fundraising techniques and strategies
• Experience and familiarity with research techniques for prospect research
• Strong contributor in team environments
• Proactively able to build bridges with remote team members (Nicaragua and U.S.)
• Minimum of two years of experience with successful grant writing
• Spanish proficiency
• Proven success with international nonprofit fundraising
• Handles multiple projects simultaneously
• Works well in a diverse team environment
• Meets income goals
