Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create and implement marketing strategies and tasks
- Produce accurate, concise, clear, well-reasoned content according to the Action Center brand style and timelines
- Help build and manage the Marketing/Communication editorial calendar, and department calendar
- Capture multimedia content utilizing photography, videography, and storytelling skills at events, activities, and donor interactions
- Create and schedule social media content for all departments utilizing the publishing dashboard
- Track the impact of campaigns and marketing efforts to improve the effectiveness
- Research, draft, and edit articles and website copy
- Coordinate with the internal teams to create promotional materials, implement revisions quickly across all communication channels, and provide project files as needed
- Produce and distribute the monthly general & volunteer newsletters
- Assist with organizing and staffing donor and volunteer events
- Manage daily administrative tasks to ensure the Marketing department runs smoothly
- Remain up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media/digital channels
- Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable about the Jefferson County community
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, flexible, and attentive to detail. Applicants are expected to have excellent written and oral communication knowledge in addition to:
- BS degree in Marketing or relevant field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
- Excellent written, public speaking, and verbal communication skills
- Passionate about writing and multimedia content creation with the ability to write clearly and accurately on deadline
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques including social media platforms, and SEO/SEM campaigns
- Must be technologically savvy with graphic design skills in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with our other current tech is a plus: MS Office, Google Apps, Constant Contact, WordPress, Monday.com, Wondershare Filmora, social media scheduling platform
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, fast learner, and able to multi-task
- Demonstrated drive for superior service
- Curiosity and excitement for learning more about the Action Center and Jefferson County community
- Ability to work well with others in a team, grounded in collaboration and respect for your co-workers
- Nonprofit experience a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A mostly stationary position, with the ability to move about as needed to access, collect, and interact with others to collect content (photos, videos, etc. in various locations) to meet the needs of the job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment will vary from an office to the outside, to various other parts of the Action Center’s campus.
