Senior Coordinator, Programs and Engagement
American Transplant Foundation | Denver, CO | Full-Time
About Us
The American Transplant Foundation is a Denver-based national nonprofit on a mission to save lives by increasing living organ donation and reducing the transplant waiting list. Through patient grant programs, caregiver support, community education, and media outreach — including our growing "Transplant Talks" podcast — we connect donors, patients, and healthcare partners in a movement that changes lives. We are a lean, high-impact team where every contribution is visible and meaningful.
About the Role
As the Senior Coordinator, you are the engine behind our day-to-day mission. This is a role for a proactive, systems-minded professional who is equally at home managing a CRM database, mentoring interns, and writing a compelling donor story. You will own the execution of our programs, steward our digital presence, and serve as a trusted point of contact for our community – all while helping shape the operational foundation that allows ATF to grow and scale its impact.
The Three Pillars of Responsibility
1. Programmatic Strategy & Execution
- Coordinate and execute ATF’s patient assistance, caregiver support, and community education programs.
- Serve as a primary contact for patient, caregiver, and partner inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Collect participant stories, outcomes, and program data to support donor reports and impact communications.
- Manage grant reporting and assist with grant research and proposal development.
- Support the development and launch of new programs, including initiatives focused on pediatric transplant families and underserved communities.
2. Data & Digital Presence
- Serve as administrator for the Foundation’s CRM, ensuring accurate tracking of donor, patient, and partner data.
- Manage the organization’s WordPress website, email newsletter, and social media platforms.
- Create graphics and content using Canva to support communications and fundraising campaigns.
- Support digital fundraising efforts and ensure consistent messaging across online channels.
- Troubleshoot basic office technology and coordinate with vendors when needed.
- You'll be supported by a rotating group of interns who assist with content and design, giving you leverage to focus on higher-level priorities.
3. Community Engagement & Team Leadership
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Identify operational challenges and develop independent solutions to strengthen our programs.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a rotating team of interns using the Foundation’s structured training program.
- Represent the organization at 2–4 community outreach events annually, including health fairs and awareness events.
- Coordinate volunteer gatherings and appreciation events.
- Respond to community inquiries and maintain strong relationships with transplant patients, donors, and hospital partners.
Qualifications & Mindset
- 2–5 years of experience in program management or nonprofit coordination. We value mission-driven experience and a "scrappy" work ethic.
- Bachelor’s degree required. MPH or MHA candidates are encouraged to apply.
- The "Proactive" Edge: You are a self-starter who identifies next steps before they are assigned. You don't just "wait for instructions"; you anticipate needs.
- Coachable & Aligned: You take direction with ease and pride yourself on being a "team player" who aligns quickly with leadership's vision and feedback.
- Tech-Forward: Fast to learn and master CRM platform, WordPress, Constant Contact, and Canva.
- Positive Resilience: You bring a constructive, energetic attitude to a high-stakes environment where empathy and professionalism are paramount.
Growth Opportunity & Benefits
ATF is in a growth phase. As we expand our pediatric and Hispanic outreach programs, this role will grow with the organization. You will have the opportunity to:
- Shape new programs from the ground up, not just maintain existing ones.
- See the direct impact by knowing the names of the families you are helping.
- Enjoy a modern workspace: Our downtown Denver office includes a rooftop terrace, an on-site fitness center, secure bike storage, and a kombucha fountain.
Compensation & Details
- Benefits: Medical/dental insurance, retirement plan with employer match, and generous PTO.
- Salary: $56,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Schedule: 4 days in-office (Mon–Thu, 9–5 p.m.) with the opportunity to work from home on Fridays if performance expectations are met.
The American Transplant Foundation is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
