Job Summary:
The Sr. Manager of Communications (Brand & Creative Direction) is the strategic and visual steward of Energy Outreach Colorado’s public-facing identity. This role oversees brand design across digital and print, leads content production, and manages both internal and external communications channels. They direct advertising and digital marketing efforts including media planning, digital platform management, and vendor coordination and ensure that all materials reflect the mission and values of the organization. This position supervises the Program Coordinator and freelance creative staff, delivering cohesive, high-quality messaging and design across multiple platforms.
Essential Functions:
Brand & Creative Oversight
- Lead the design and production of all creative assets ensuring brand consistency and high visual impact.
- Oversee freelance designers, photographers, and videographers to support high-volume or specialty projects.
- Oversee all external and internal email campaigns, including newsletters, appeals, and program updates.
Digital Marketing & Advertising
- Lead media buying and vendor negotiations for print, radio, and digital placements.
- Administer and optimize media campaigns via tools such as Feathr or similar platforms for digital ad placements.
- Collaborate with communications and development teams to target audiences effectively and achieve measurable campaign goals.
Project & Team Management
- Supervise the Program Coordinator, providing oversight on execution of outreach materials, education content, and communications support.
- Manage vendor contracts and ensure project deliverables are on-brand, on-budget, and on-schedule.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expert-level knowledge in brand management, graphic design, and marketing communications.
- Experience with digital marketing platforms like Feathr, Google Ads, or Meta Business Suite.
- Strong project management and creative direction abilities.
- Clear, compelling written and visual communication skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams and freelancers in bringing a creative vision to life.
Minimum Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in marketing communications, with direct experience in creative production and brand oversight.
- Professional background in graphic design, creative direction, communications or PR/media relations.
- Demonstrated experience in digital marketing/advertising and/or media buying.
- 1 year experience managing staff and external vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, public relations, marketing, or related field.
- Familiarity with nonprofit or mission-driven communications.
- Experience with email automation platforms and digital marketing analytics.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Valid Driver's License required or the ability to be present to meet at various locations, and times as required.

Work Environment:
Hybrid – office location in downtown Denver and employees’ home or remote Colorado location.
Salary – Annual Equivalent: $87,000. – $92,000
