Summary

The Foundation is seeking an experienced professional who will be responsible for ensuring that the Foundation’s accounting records, and financial reports follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and industry best practices are met. This position serves as the primary technical accounting resource for the organization and stays well-informed of the relevant technical rules, as well as best practices in accounting and other related areas. Reports to SVP leadership in Finance.

Description

The Senior Manager of Finance and Accounting will make recommendations for improvements and implement changes to keep the organization’s accounting policies and processes efficient, effective and in line with best practices. This position is a supervisory role and will oversee the daily routine functions of the Finance and Accounting department and ensure proper internal controls over Foundation assets.

All applicants will be screened for the following minimum requirements:

  • Seven years of work experience as an accountant
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) accreditation may substitute for not having a major in accounting with undergraduate degree should show a GPA of 3.5 towards major and overall.
  • Experience as an accounting manager or similar full-charge accounting function &/or experience as a financial auditor, especially in audits of not-for-profit organizations
  • Direct experience as a supervisor
  • Expert-level ability in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting and preparation of Form 990
