Position Description:
Executive Vice President of Real Estate
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strategies to address future needs of campus and executing development project pipeline from inception to completion.
- Work with CEO to develop financing strategies for public improvements and infrastructure.
- Coordinate and communicate with board members, city, partners, clients and other stakeholders to define projects, identify constraints and execute strategy.
- Able to develop strong working relationships with City of Aurora and other key stakeholders to manage and get approvals for traffic plans, the General Development Plan, permitting processes, drainage studies and environmental clean-up requirements.
- Work closely with CEO to anticipate space needs and make assessments of project feasibility.
- Create development budgets and schedules and manage execution within financial parameters. (Develop strategies to reduce project risks and exposure.)
- Track and report monthly progress on each project against goals, objectives, budget and timelines.
- Manage teams of external parties including architects, engineers, general contractors and other consultants.
- Oversee property management team to support community and tenant relations.
- Oversee maintenance team to maintain properties at the highest standards.
- Help identify strategies to maximize revenue for current real estate assets.
- Oversee lease and sale of all real estate.
- And, other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Current knowledge of and experience working in the commercial real estate market in Colorado. (Understanding of residential market would be beneficial.)
- At least ten years of experience working in the real estate market in Colorado.
- Established working relationships with real estate finance resources, mortgage bankers, lenders, government entities, private real estate developers and industry stakeholders.
- Knowledge of potential grants, subsidies and/or economic benefits in support of real estate development activities.
- Experience with Tax Increment Financing and Metro Districts and/or a strong knowledge and understanding of both.
- Knowledge about local, state and federal regulations that may impact development and new construction.
- Knowledge of bioscience and life sciences industry would be beneficial.
