About Us
The Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado and COLTAF (the Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation) are nonprofit organizations committed to expanding access to justice by supporting civil legal aid for low-income Coloradans. The Legal Aid Foundation conducts a statewide fundraising campaign that supports Colorado Legal Services through direct mail, peer-to-peer fundraising, and individual, tailored asks. The Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation administers Colorado’s Interest on Lawyer Trust Account (IOLTA) program. This entails receiving interest payments from partner banks that hold COLTAF accounts and making grants to legal aid providers in Colorado.
Position Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated Executive Assistant to provide support to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate is an organized, tech-savvy professional who is willing to be flexible and learn new skills to advance our mission of ensuring justice for all Coloradans.
Key Responsibilities
Calendar & Meeting Management
- Maintain and coordinate the Executive Director’s schedule.
- Schedule meetings, prepare materials, and ensure timely follow-up.
Travel & Expense Support
- Arrange travel logistics, including accommodations, flights, and itineraries.
- Manage and submit expense reports and reimbursements.
Communications & Marketing
- Draft and edit newsletter articles, emails, and other communications.
- Create visually engaging materials using Canva.
- Support social media content development and posting.
Board & Committee Support
- Draft and distribute meeting minutes for board and committee meetings.
- Assist with logistics, scheduling, communications, and agenda drafting.
Development & Operations
- Assist with mailings, donor correspondence, and campaign logistics.
- Proofread written materials for grammar, clarity, and tone.
- Provide general support across administrative and fundraising functions.
- Assist in maintaining donor database.
Other Duties
- Take on special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Assist other members of our team, as needed, during busy months or large projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree with relevant work experience in the legal or nonprofit sectors.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva. Willingness to learn other software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing schedules, drafting correspondence, and supporting executive-level leadership.
Preferred
- Familiarity with nonprofit governance and fundraising practices.
- Comfort with social media platforms and light graphic design.
- Prior experience in legal, advocacy, or philanthropic settings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000–$70,000, depending on skills.
