You’ll lead projects from concept to delivery—collaborating closely with marketing, product, and creative teams to develop authentic, platform-native video across channels. From launch campaigns and how-tos to brand films and short-form ., your work will play a key role in how we connect with consumers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Own the end-to-end production process for video content across Exxel’s portfolio of outdoor brands—from idea to final export.
  • Manage incoming video requests and maintain the production calendar across all teams, ensuring deadlines and priorities are aligned.
  • Concept and develop innovative, brand-aligned video ideas that elevate storytelling and support business goals.
  • Coordinate pre-production logistics including briefs, scheduling, locations, casting, and equipment planning.
  • Direct and produce both in-studio and on-location shoots, operating cameras, lighting, and audio gear as needed.
  • Oversee all aspects of production including rigging, set design, and safe operation of special equipment.
  • Edit video content for various platforms (Vertical first social content, eCommerce, brand campaigns), ensuring visual consistency and quality.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams throughout the production process—gathering feedback, aligning on brand tone, and managing revisions.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, equipment, and software updates to keep our production capabilities sharp and efficient.
  • Continuously improve workflows and processes to streamline execution and support scalability.
  • Tackle special projects with flexibility, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Stay current on video trends, outdoor culture, and digital storytelling techniques.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • 5+ years of experience in high-volume, fast-paced commercial video production—ideally within consumer goods, outdoor, or active-lifestyle industries
  • A proven ability to wear multiple hats: producer, director, shooter, editor, and project manager
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, cinematography (studio and on-location), and storytelling across formats and platforms
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) on Mac, plus familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Strong grasp of lighting, rigging, and set design fundamentals
  • Experience managing content for multiple brands, ensuring voice and tone align across assets
  • Ability to write and edit consumer-facing scripts and visualize story-driven content
  • A creative problem-solver with the adaptability to thrive in unpredictable production environments
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Self-starter mindset—comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Degree in Film/Video Production, Cinematography, or a related field preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

A collaborative, photo and video studio space work environment located on the first floor of the 40,000 sq. foot facility located in Broomfield, Colorado. Team members share a common desk area located in the studio. There are approximately 125 employees in the 40,000 sq. ft Broomfield corporate facility which houses a workout facility, multiple quiet telephone booths and a large employee breakroom for the employee’s use.

 Salary range for the Video Specialist position is $52,500-$62,500 annually based on education and prior experience.
