The Denver JCC is seeking a General Manager of Philanthropy and Marketing to support our growing business needs. The position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, efficiency, and administrative skills.

Role and Responsibilities

  • In cooperation with the Chief Development Officer/designees develop and implement fundraising strategies. Including but not limited to creating plans for major gifts, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, and grant writing
  • Provide oversight and management to the Marketing and Philanthropy Departments by overseeing the Director of Marketing and Communications and Director of Development roles.
  • Oversee and manage the philanthropy and marketing budgets effectively, ensuring that resources are used wisely, are in line with the JCC's mission, and that financial goals are met.
  • Lead and motivate a team of professionals in the philanthropy and marketing department by providing direction and effective collaboration across all departments of the JCC.
  • Oversee donor relations in conjunction with CDO/designee by cultivating relationships with current and potential donors, ensuring they are satisfied, and building long-term partnerships.
  • Build and retain relationships with local community leaders, attend local events, and represent the JCC across our community.
  • Track and report on progress towards various fund raising and marketing goals by analyzing data and making recommendations for improvement. As well as budget management and projections.
  • Manage or assist in the solicitation of major gifts, corporate sponsorships for special events and other programs across the JCC Denver and Mizel Arts and Culture Center.
  • Collaborate with CDO/C-Suite Leadership to develop a multi-year growth strategy that anticipates corporate giving, major gift and grant making cycles to ensure the advancement and sustainability of JCC Denver.
  • Ensure brand continuity and voice by serving as final proofreader and editor for all JCC Newsletters.
  • Ensure JCC Vision and brand continuity across all department messaging and programs of the JCC.
  • Develop, implement, and manage systems for ensuring efficiency across departments as related to marketing and philanthropy.
  • Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including donor database.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education and certification: Bachelor’s degree required, additional certifications and education preferred
  • At least 7-10 years of successful fundraising experience, preferably at a social service or community-focused agency.
  • Successful leadership experience in building programs, leading teams, managing/motivating staff and creating a strong and successful department.
  • Experience managing marketing efforts, staff, and projects.
  • Successful track record with non-profits having an annual budget of at least $10 million.

  • Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, cope with stress, adapt to and stay alert in a business environment
  • The position requires the incumbent to remain in the sitting position for prolonged hours. While performing duties of job, employees are occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen (15) pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: Working conditions may include being in an open (shared) cubicle/workspace area as well as trips to our off-site program locations (e.g. Day Camp or Overnight Camp (Elbert, CO)

Benefits Overview

Full-Time employees of the JCC are considered benefits eligible.

The JCC contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The JCC proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits eligible employees. We also provide additional voluntary benefit plans.

The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. The JCC matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.

Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of Paid Time Off in their first year of service. The JCC also provides paid-holidays and benefits-eligible employees are awarded up to 4 additional “Floating Holidays” per year, prorated based on date of hire.

Full-Time employees are also eligible for a wide range of discounts, including up to 50% off for the JCC’s Preschool and Summer Camp childcare programs, free and discounted tickets to Mizel Arts and Culture events, discounted program and class costs, and more!

Full-Time employees of the JCC receive complementary family gym membership, which includes year-round access to the JCC’s fitness center and heated pool.
