• 4+ years of experience in a communications role with experience navigating complex stakeholder relationships

• Experience in a communications role with strong writing and editing abilities and demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills.

What does this role look like?

This position will drive internal Communications strategies for Space tech, innovation and product initiatives. The work will be done in partnership with an integrated team and in alignment with business priorities. The representative will also lead internal crisis comms and other responsibilities as assigned. This position reports to the Space Employee Communications & Experience manager

This role will offer you the following daily challenges:

• Proactively develop and execute internal innovation communications strategy in alignment with integrated
• Comms team and business objectives
• Provide internal communications support for two Space VPs responsible for innovation and transformation
• Collaborate with communicators and other internal stakeholders, including functional organizations and change management, on transformation communications
• Serve as Space Communications’ primary internal crisis communications lead, coordinating with internal stakeholders as crises arise and training backup support on an annual basis
• Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels across business areas
• Other responsibilities as assigned

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.

Desired skills

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

• Bachelors degree, or higher, in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or English preferred.
• 6+ years of professional experience in communications.
• Strong planning, writing and editing abilities – including AP style and Smart Brevity.
• Ability to create and execute integrated strategic communications plans that support business objectives across multiple channels.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including executive management.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work well under deadline pressure with employees at all levels.
• Enthusiastic, organized and results-oriented.
• Quick study with an attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• A strong sense of follow-up and closure.
• Ability to manage multiple, widely varied assignments.
• Knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s business and industry.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,800 – $130,180. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
