The Grants Manager plays a critical role on our team, supporting the long-term financial sustainability of the organization through robust grant strategy, submission, and compliance. The position works closely with the Executive Director and is instrumental in securing private and government grant funding. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Overview
Adaptive Adventures is accepting applications on a rolling basis for the position of Grants Manager. This role may be part-time or full-time, depending on the qualifications and availability of the right candidate. A minimum of 1 day per week in the Westminster, CO office is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grant Strategy, Research, Writing, Submission, and Review
    • Develop and maintain a grants calendar to track deadlines, reporting, and renewals
    • Conduct prospect research to identify funding opportunities from private foundations, corporations, and government entities
    • Write and submit compelling and mission-aligned letters of inquiry, grant proposals, and renewal applications
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather program descriptions, data, budgets, and impact stories
    • Ensure timely submission of all proposals and supporting documentation
  • Grant Compliance, Reporting, and Stewardship
    • Track grant deliverables, outcomes, and financial reports in coordination with program and finance staff
    • Prepare and submit mid-year and final reports to funders as required
    • Maintain organized records of all submitted proposals and funder correspondence
    • Cultivate relationships with grant officers through updates, site visits, and impact storytelling
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and private grant requirements, including the VA Adaptive Sports Grant
  • Strategic Development Support
    • Contribute to annual fundraising planning and strategy development with the Executive Director
    • Assist in developing budgets and justifications for grant proposals
    • Support organizational storytelling and data collection efforts to enhance funder communication
    • Participate in donor cultivation events, site visits, and community engagement efforts as needed

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of successful grant writing and management experience, preferably in a
    nonprofit setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft Office Suite, and donor
    database systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and funder relationships simultaneously
  • Knowledge of federal grant compliance preferred
  • Passion for inclusive recreation and belief in the mission of Adaptive Adventures
  • Strong organizational, management and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize
    projects enhancing workflow using independent judgment in making decisions that affect
    day to day operations of Adaptive Adventures
  • Has the ability to work with a variety of different people including potential sponsors, event
    managers, volunteers, participants with special needs, Board of Directors and program staff
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Schedule and Benefits
This position offers flexible hours and a hybrid schedule, with at least one in-office day required. Open to part-time applicants, though full-time is preferred. 

Salary is pro-rated for part-time candidates at $60,000. For Full-Time salary and benefits description, please request via email.
