The Events & Community Fundraising Manager is responsible for leading RMHC-Denver’s fundraising, stewardship, and community-based events. This role serves as the primary owner of RMHC-Denver’s external and internal event portfolio and third-party fundraising program, creating meaningful experiences that increase revenue, strengthen relationships, and expand awareness of RMHC-Denver throughout the communities it serves. The position works collaboratively across Development, Marketing, Programs, Volunteers, Board members, and external partners to deliver exceptional experiences that advance fundraising goals, build community support, and create pathways for long-term donor engagement. To protect the health of the families we serve and our staff, RMHC-Denver requires all employees to receive a flu vaccination. Exemptions may be considered.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Functions

Event Leadership & Execution (55%)
Serves as the primary owner and project manager of RMHC-Denver’s fundraising, stewardship, and organizational events.
Leads the planning, execution, and evaluation of Storybook Ball, Giving Day/Radiothon, Legacy Society events, donor recognition events, open houses, corporate partner events, and other internal and external
fundraising and stewardship initiatives.
Develops annual event plans, timelines, budgets, fundraising goals, and performance metrics in alignment with organizational priorities and fundraising objectives.
Manages all event logistics, including venue and vendor relationships, registrations, sponsorship fulfillment, auctions, volunteer committees, and guest communications.
Partners with the Development & Events Coordinator and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.
Delivers exceptional donor, sponsor, volunteer, and guest experiences that strengthen relationships and encourage future engagement.
Conducts post-event evaluations and analyzes participation, fundraising results, and attendee feedback to identify
opportunities for growth and improvement.
3rd Party & Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Program Growth (30%)
Develops and implements strategies to grow RMHC-Denver’s 3rd party and peer-to-peer fundraising programs.
Builds and manages a year-round pipeline of prospective 3rd party fundraising partners, including businesses,
schools, community organizations, and individual fundraisers.
Serves as the primary contact for 3rd party fundraising partners, providing guidance, resources, and support
throughout the event lifecycle.
Reviews and approves fundraising requests, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and brand standards.
Establishes annual goals and tracks participation, revenue, retention, and growth opportunities to inform
strategies.
Collaborates with Marketing to increase awareness and visibility of RMHC-Denver throughout the communities it serves.
Event Partnerships & Organizational Collaboration (15%)
Collaborates across Development, Marketing, Programs, and Community Engagement to create opportunities that move individuals from awareness to long-term involvement and philanthropy.
Partners with Marketing to develop event promotional plans, participant communications, and event-related collateral.
Supports Board engagement through event participation, stewardship activities, donor cultivation, and community
outreach.
Recruits, trains, and manages volunteers supporting event activities.
Represents RMHC-Denver at meetings, community gatherings, and partnership opportunities as assigned.
Education, Experience & Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Event Management, Public Relations, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, event management, community fundraising, or relationship management required.
Demonstrated experience planning and executing large-scale fundraising events, donor events, and community engagement initiatives.
Experience developing and growing 3rd party peer-to-peer, or community-based fundraising programs strongly preferred.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple events, competing priorities, and deadlines.
Experience developing event budgets, establishing fundraising goals, and evaluating event performance through measurable outcomes and key performance indicators.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to represent RMHC-Denver professionally to diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with volunteers, Board members, donors, and community partners.
Experience working with donor databases, event management systems, and fundraising platforms; experience with Raiser’s Edge and GiveSmart preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Teams, and other business applications.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform physical requirements of an office-based position, including sitting, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis, and operating office equipment.
Must be able to travel regularly between the Denver and Aurora Houses, vendor sites, meeting venues, and other
designated locations as needed.
Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed for events.
Ability to work in a typical office environment, including exposure to normal office noise levels.
This is a full-time, exempt position, with the expectation of working 40 hours per week. The general work schedule will be M-F, to include some evenings and occasional weekends. This position is eligible for all full-time benefits,
