This position is to serve as a full-time tenure-track faculty member within the Aviation and Aerospace Science Department (AVS) at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU-Denver). The position begins fall semester 2018. The successful applicant will be appointed as an Assistant Professor on a 12-month (fall/spring/summer) full-time tenure track contract. The position requires a teaching load of 3-credit hours of AVS classes each fall term, 3-credit hours each spring term, and 3-credit hours each summer term. In addition to teaching duties for each fall, spring, and summer term, the faculty member will also serve as Director of the AVS Aeronautics and Aerospace Systems Laboratories (AASL). In this capacity, the faculty member will each semester (a) plan, implement, and manage the AVS’ Aeronautics and Aerospace Systems Laboratories, (b) manage the AVS Office Manager, AASL Assistant Manager, and student work-study program, and © assist the program Chair in managing the AVS program’s annual budget and program-wide facilities. As an Assistant Professor, this position also mandates performance requirements in areas of professional development, service, and student advising.
