Aquatics Maintenance Technician

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Operations Manager, performs technical, mechanical and related administrative coordination of the City of Lafayette public aquatic amenities. Work involves ensuring continuous safe conditions of all aquatic facilities, in compliance with local, state and federal standards. Work is primarily conducted at the Great Outdoors Water Park, and the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing mechanical operations at all public swimming pool facilities, including Waneka Lake Boathouse, Festival Plaza, Bob Burger Recreation Center, and related City amenities.
Work involves independence within established guidelines and procedures with the incumbent expected to make recommendations for changes in the mechanics of the physical aquatic systems in order to meet the goals of operation. Work is involved with making decisions that affect health conditions of the public. Work is reviewed through observation, conferences regarding the condition of facilities, adherence to standards and efficiency of operations. Works closely with others in coordinating maintenance and projects, facilitating communication and providing technical guidance. Does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, but will supervise the work of contractors, and will have responsibility for supporting operations by serving as a shift supervisor; providing direction to part time staff. Performs other work as required.

Fleet Mechanic – Parks, Open Space and Golf

Maintains assigned equipment for the City, Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department. Performs a full range of automotive, large and small equipment, and other mechanical work as assigned. Performs tune-ups, electrical repairs, major overhauls, welding, as well as routine service repair duties to trucks, cars, tractors, etc.
