The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver (BGCMD) operates a residential, summer camp where kids, ages 8 to 13, attend one-week, single-gender sessions at Gates Camp. Campers participate in hiking, canoeing, backpacking, fishing, rock climbing, archery, hands-on environmental games, and other outdoor activities. These programs and activities inspire kids to explore new ideas, work in teams, and support one another. We are currently hiring an Assistant Cook, to live and work at Camp between the dates of May 24th and July 31st; all internships are seasonal.
The Camp Healthcare Provider is responsible for storing, distributing and keeping records of all Camper medications. He or she is also responsible for treating illnesses and injuries, and determining when outside medical care is required. This person will work with the Campers, Counselors, Camp Directors, Kitchen Staff and parents (as needed) to address health needs.
The Camp Healthcare Provider will, at times, provide instruction to Campers about how to proactively promote their personal health and well-being (e.g. hydration, protection from the Sun, proper nutrition and asking for help) and supports professional development opportunities for Staff.
