Colorado Outward Bound School Field/Support Interns in the SouthWest Program (SWP) have two primary roles: learning the ropes of instructing and supporting field courses logistically. Through these roles, Interns will gain an entry level appreciation for outdoor education program management and the Field Instructor position.
Following a 10-14-day wilderness and basecamp training Interns will be scheduled for a mix of field and support time. Interns receive approx. 7 weeks to support logistical needs: packing food, driving students, organizing gear and 3 weeks of field time in an observational and mentored capacity working directly with students in the rivers, canyons and mountains of the desert SouthWest.
