The unit’s goal is to ensure efficient and cross functional technology methods and architecture to obtain complete and accurate data that can be used to facilitate all areas of engineering:  specialty, design, pre-construction, construction, materials, and project management. 

 

About the Position

This Senior System Analyst position serves as a lead analyst for construction systems that provide application services, system analysis and evaluation for software solutions.
 
Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Develops, evaluates, and maintains systems and methods for collecting, processing, summarizing, analyzing, storing, archiving, retrieving and reporting data for either construction engineering systems.
  • Provides expertise in investigating system quality problems to determine cause (i.e., hardware, software, user error, lack of training, need for clarity in program guidance, etc.) evaluates options, and develops/implement solutions.
  • Develops system guidelines to validate decisions on system quality problems and identifies methods to improve system quality.   
  • Performs ad hoc data analysis regarding data collection or reporting requirements.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders for data collection issues and determines patterns of inaccurate/error of data collection.
  • Collects and defines system requirements as needed for additional functionality being requested for implementation.
  • Communicates regularly with users to integrate best practices and provides direction to ensure quality and on-time completion of deliverables. 
  • Evaluates and reviews system business requirements and determines the potential impact changes will have on current system processes.
  • Provides system improvements to the enterprise applications team based on system processes and business requirements.    
  • Gathers information from testing new releases in relation to established business processes. Performs fit-gap analysis and compares requests to rules, regulations, and procedures. 
  • Works with stakeholders to ensure the successful onboarding/access for consultants.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Daytime work hours, Monday – Friday
  • Monday – in office, Tuesday – Friday work from home
  • Occasional overnight travel 1-3 times a year throughout Colorado

 

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

 

Experience Only:

  • Four years of experience in a field closely to the major job duties of this position; 
  • AND at least three years of professional experience integrating business needs and processes with software functionality; performing unit testing, configuration management and release management, as well as troubleshooting end user computer issues. 

Experience & Education:

A combination of relevant education and experience equal to at least seven (7) years that include:

  • Coursework from an accredited U.S. college or university (a copy of your transcript must be submitted to verify this requirement).
  • AND at least 3 years of professional experience integrating business needs and processes with software functionality; performing unit testing, configuration management and release management, as well as troubleshooting end user computer issues. 

OR

  • A Master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university in Business Administration, Computer Science, Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Management/Technology, Public Administration, or a closely related master's degree (A copy of your transcript must be submitted to verify this requirement).
  • AND at least one year of professional experience integrating business needs and processes with software functionality; performing unit testing, configuration management and release management, as well as troubleshooting end user computer issues. 

 

Education Only:

  • A Master's degree plus one year of coursework or a Doctorate Degree from an accredited U.S. college or university in Business Administration, Computer Science, Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Management/Technology, Public Administration or a closely related degree (A copy of your transcript must be submitted to verify this requirement).
