Mi Casa Resource Center is seeking a bilingual professional with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of the barriers specific to marginalized communities and experience in case management or career coaching to join as our Career Coach, DRCOG. 

The Career Coach provides DRCOG program participants with individualized support to ensure they complete their technical skills training, learn soft skills, and ultimately find and retain employment in the building decarbonization trades. They will assist 150 English and non-native English participants over the 2-year program period. Participants receive 1:1 coaching and wraparounds services to achieve employment. Participants will enroll in an 80-hour HVACR technical skills training course while receiving a range of support services, including needs assessment, problem solving, resource/referral, financial assistance, and benefits management. The Career Coach supports Career Pathways programming by collaborating with team members, facilitating training, technological support, and data entry. The Coach will also track and report on education and employment outcomes.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participant Interaction

  • Provides 1:1 and small group coaching for DRCOG participants (through goal setting, resume writing skills, interviewing skills, customer service, digital skills building and job search strategies) leading them to employment outcomes.  
  • Connects participants directly to wraparound services prior to, during, and after training to reduce personal barriers and ensure post-training employment placement. 
  • Works with participants pre-enrollment to complete the Initial Assessment and Individual Career Plan. 
  • Provides encouragement and motivational support to participants as they progress through technical skills training and job search. 
  • Monitors training participation, attendance, assignments, and program completion through ongoing communication and by securing attendance records from training providers.  
  • Conducts follow-up with participants at regular intervals post-employment to provide support as needed; and collect information and documentation about employment and job retention. 

Operations

  • Works with Program Coordinator, training providers, and the enrollment team to determine eligibility and suitability for participants to enroll.  
  • Maintains connections with training providers and employer partners to provide high-quality referrals and share job opportunities with participants. 
  • Supports agency’s efforts to provide strength-based wraparound services to all participants.  
  • Performs administrative tasks using Salesforce CRM related to coaching and case management.  
  • Supports the enhancements of job search curriculum and strategies.  

Independent Judgement

  • Uses discretion in determining best ways to support participants. 

Evaluation

  • Ensures timely, accurate, and detailed maintenance of documentation and data management on all participants in all relevant data systems.  
  • Supports data-driven decisions using analytical tools to evaluate the success of program activities and make recommendations to leadership.  
  • Provides input to external and internal teams to inform evaluation efforts.  

Other

  • Contributes to organizational team effort by attending staff meetings and serving on committees.  
  • Performs related duties as assigned within their scope of practice.  

  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4 years of experience in case management or coaching or an equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required.  
  • Experience working in work force development, career services, Technical Education and Higher Education preferred.  
  • Culturally Competent individual with experience and ability to communicate with diverse populations. 
  • Knowledge of Denver-area community-based organizations and resources. 
  • Extensive understanding and experience with the tasks, process, and requirements of getting into and succeeding in postsecondary education and the workplace.  
  • Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.  
  • Background check required and valid driver’s license & auto insurance as well as good motor vehicle record.  
  • Evening and weekend work as required to meet the needs of the organization.

Mi Casa is partnering with Red Rocks Community College, Front Range Community College, and Blue Sky Training to provide technical skills training for 150 community members over the course of two years. Colorado Cleantech Industry Association will support industry partner engagement. As part of the program, Mi Casa will provide program oversight, outreach, recruitment, wraparounds services, individual coaching, participant stipends, employment connections, and retention services.
