Description

The Seasonal Career Success Camp Educator will facilitate hands-on innovative classes for rising 8th through 10th grade girls during a 4-week summer Eureka! STEM summer camp. Eureka! Camp will run from June 8th through July 1st . The educator will facilitate lessons on STEM, leadership, innovation, and physical movement programming. The role will also support the department’s general summer programming needs including reporting and evaluation, transportation and other logistics needs that arise for effective programming. This is a full-time temporary, non-exempt hourly position, approximately 40 hours per week. Includes two weeks of staff training and class preparation in May. Position will begin on May 18th and end on July 6th, 2026 (holidays excluded, full calendar shared during interview process).

Key Responsibilities 

Program Delivery 

  • Implement curriculum, goals, objectives and evaluation methods for a hands-on program.
  • Facilitate daily lesson plans for each session.
  • Actively assist with program related logistics such as structured free time duty, opening/closing, van driving, etc.
  • Provide direction, motivation, and management of program participants.
  • Provide a safe and fun environment for participants.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Assist with organizing and cleaning general program spaces.
  • Perform other job functions as needed.

Documentation and Compliance  

  • Complete evaluation for each session and enter class attendance in the Girls Inc. database.
  • Complete evaluations, incident reports, and any other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Follow organizational policies, mandated reporting guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and trainings as requested.

Qualifications 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic summer programming environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and meet all licensing requirements.
  • Excitement and/or experience for facilitating STEM concepts and activities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An appreciation for diverse populations, cultures, and economic experiences. Exhibits commitment to social justice values and anti-oppression analysis.
  • A high school diploma and at least 2 years of teaching lessons or delivering programs for middle and high school youth.
  • Knowledge of youth development and youth-centered programming principles.
  • Familiarity with Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) tools and practices.
  • Understanding of youth development and gender-specific programming strategies.

 Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in youth development, after-school programming, or similar work.
  • Experience facilitating youth programming for groups of at least 15 participants.
  • Experience working in positive youth development settings.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of driving while on field trips.
  • Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license with a driving record that allows employees to be covered by agency auto insurance and drive agency vehicles (must be at least 23 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience).
