Communications & Marketing Specialist Job Description
Abiding Hope is seeking an energetic communications professional who is a self-starter and creative thinker. We are creating a new outreach that will serve the community by connecting people to nature in a variety of ways. This outreach will take place at the Abiding Hope Nature School which is a separate location from Abiding Hope Church. We are looking for a communications and marketing specialist that can help brand, market, and develop new and innovative channels for reaching the community. This is a new position and new outreach so the ideal candidate would be able to create strategy organically and pivot when necessary. This position is part time and reports to the Director of Communications.
Salary Range: $20-24 an hour based on experience
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies
- In collaboration with the Communications Director, create and execute marketing plans across social media, email, digital, and traditional advertising.Maintain and Manage Website
- Ability to work on websites including graphics and SEO maintenance.
- Website building skills a plus.
Create Marketing Materials
- Develop engaging and compelling content including website copy, social media posts, email campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Ability to print, cut, and fold marketing material when necessary.
- Previous graphic design experience a plus.
Monitor Campaign Performance
- Tracking key metrics, a part of this position will be analyzing what worked and what didn’t, being able to change direction when/if needed.
Communications
- The ideal candidate will have strong proof reading and editing skills.
- Knowledge of Adobe software and/or Canva is desired.
- Knowledge of Mailchimp or another email marketing program is a plus.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing or equivalent work experience
- Creative thinker and self-starter
- Problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work from home or remotely
- Ability to travel to both locations in Littleton when needed
This position is mostly remote and has flexible hours. There will be some required meetings and gatherings at both Abiding Hope Church and Abiding Hope Nature School (both sites are only a couple miles apart). This is perhaps an ideal position for a parent who has these skills but wants the flexibility to balance family life.
Work Schedule: This is a flexible position with some required meetings throughout the week. You can work your set hours on your schedule as long as it is agreed upon with the Director of Communications.
Location: Mostly remote work but some work will be conducted at Abiding Hope Church, 6337 S. Robb Way, Littleton, CO 80127 and at Abiding Hope Nature School, 5707 S. Simms St., Littleton, CO 80127
