Summary

The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting fundraising and communications activities at KIND. Reporting to the Development Director, this position focuses on social media management, donor stewardship, and administrative support for fundraising campaigns, events, and grant activities. The Development Coordinator will help support administrative functions when needed, engage with storytelling, and strengthen our donor base through consistent and compelling communication.

COMPENSATION: $52,000│ HOURS: 40 hours/Full time

THE ORGANIZATION: Founded in 1912, Kids in Need of Dentistry, known as KIND, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the state of Colorado on a mission to increase oral health and happiness of Colorado children in need. KIND provides judgement-free, high quality, accessible oral healthcare and education with kindness to children in need in safe environments.  

KIND is poised for growth and ready to move to the next level, continuing in its legacy of innovation in community health in by transitioning from a small non-profit focused on providing low-cost pediatric dental treatment, to an organization focused on long-term results for improving health equity and perceptions of oral health’s integral role in whole person wellness for children in need across Colorado. 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting fundraising and communications activities at KIND. Reporting to the Development Director, this position focuses on social media management, donor stewardship, and administrative support for fundraising campaigns, events, and grant activities. The Development Coordinator will help support administrative functions when needed, engage with storytelling, and strengthen our donor base through consistent and compelling communication. 

ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES 

Fundraising & Donor Support 

  • Uphold the 100+ year reputation of KIND by ensuring the delivery of compassionate, appropriate care with kindness to Colorado families and/or maintaining courtesy and respect to all KIND stakeholders.  

  • Support execution of annual fundraising campaigns, including benefit events, golf events, community celebrations, and other charity events. 

  • Assist with donor stewardship activities: gift acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and impact updates. 

  • Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting. 

  • Provide support in planning and implementing in-person fundraising events, including logistics, promotion, and follow-up. 

Social Media & Communications 

  • Manage and grow KIND’s presence across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, etc.), aligning content with fundraising goals and mission messaging. 

  • Develop and implement a monthly social media content calendar, including graphics, captions, and engagement strategies. 

  • Track social media analytics and recommend strategies for growth and engagement. 

  • Collaborate with the Development Director on email campaigns and website updates. 

Administrative & Team Support 

  • Provide administrative support to the Development Director, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up. 

  • Assist with grant submissions by gathering data, formatting attachments, and ensuring deadlines are met. 

  • Coordinate with program and operations staff to gather stories, photos, and impact data for communications. 

  • Assist with Board of Directors management, including preparing Board materials, taking meeting minutes, scheduling committee meetings, and maintain Board documents. 

  • Prepare and send annual donor acknowledgments. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall development strategy. 

ShapeQualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, public health, nonprofit management, fundraising, or related field. 

  • 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, communications, or related work. 

  • Strong writing and editing skills; ability to craft compelling content for social media and donor communications. 

  • Proficiency with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Buffer). 

  • Experience with donor databases/CRMs preferred (e.g., Salesforce). 

  • High level of expertise in MS Office applications. 

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record; ability to do limited travel.

Compensation & Benefits 

  • Salary range: $50,500 – $54,000 commensurate with experience.
