At the Davis Phinney Foundation, we help people with Parkinson’s live well today. Resources such as tools, education, and experiences are just a few of the ways we help make the lives of those we serve better. Since 2004, the Foundation has brought to life some of the most important programs and research for those affected by Parkinson’s. Our community includes people living with Parkinson’s, Parkinson’s care partners, families, and friends in addition to physicians and allied health professionals.

POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The Events and Grassroots Fundraising Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that the mission and goals of the Foundation are met through a strategic annual events calendar and peer-to-peer grassroots fundraising efforts. This role leads the execution of our event production and participation across the US which includes fundraising events, educational conferences, event beneficiary opportunities, tabling opportunities, and more. This role will foster meaningful relationships with donors and sponsors and drive revenue by recruiting and empowering fundraisers. This position ensures fundraising success through cross departmental collaboration and is instrumental in helping us to meet event budget goals by supporting revenue generation and thoughtfully managing event expenses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

EVENTS:
• Take a lead role in creating an annual event strategy to meet Foundation fundraising, awareness building, education, engagement, and audience building goals
• Lead the overall planning and execution of Foundation events, ensuring all event logistics, safety measures, and participant needs are met.
• Provide on-site leadership and management for all staff, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless event operations.
• Develop and manage event timelines, budget, and resources, ensuring the event is delivered on time and within budget.
• Oversee all aspects of the participant experience, from registration to post-event follow-up, ensuring high levels of participant satisfaction.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to support events, ensuring they are equipped to fulfill their roles effectively.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsors and partners to secure, negotiate, and manage sponsorships, in-kind donations, and event revenue.
• Coordinate staff travel related to events including sourcing and managing hotels, coordinating booking flights and other transportation, and leading pre-event meetings and communications to prepare staff.
• Manage all shipping associated with events including packing, creating shipping labels, scheduling pickup, and coordinating return shipping.
• Support the collection and analysis of feedback from event partners, sponsors, and participants to support continued improvement of our event offerings.

GRASSROOTS FUNDRAISING (TEAM DPF):
• Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive strategy to grow grassroots and peer-to-peer fundraising, engaging fundraisers and driving revenue growth.
• Plan and execute peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, integrating virtual and in-person events to maximize participation.
• Manage recruitment of fundraisers through targeted outreach.
• Serve as the primary contact to support fundraisers in setting and achieving ambitious goals by providing effective tools, training, and coaching.
• Monitor program performance and fundraising trends to inform and refine strategy, ensuring alignment with revenue goals.
• Create and manage the annual budget for Team DPF.
• Develop, implement and manage the annual incentive program, including budget management, recognition strategies, and merchandise to inspire and reward fundraisers.
• Partner with marketing to create engaging resources and communications that drive fundraiser recruitment and retention.
• Research and apply best practices in grassroots and peer-to-peer fundraising to ensure innovation and a competitive edge.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Event production
• Excellent negotiation experience
• Budgeting skills
• Proficient in use and management of donor database
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Capacity to work independently with strong problem-solving skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
• 5+ years’ experience working in fundraising and development with experience in grassroots fundraising and events.
• Proven track record of achieving fundraising goals and cultivating sponsor relationships.
• Proficient in fundraising platforms and CRM systems
• Proficient in MS Office 365 applications
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
• Experience in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online
• Experience working in a nonprofit organization, specifically one focused on health, well-being, or a disease state organization

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• Frequency walking and climbing stairs
• Ability to carry or lift <25 lbs.

TRAVEL
• Approximately 20% travel may be required for meetings, conferences, events, or community engagement activities
