Karsh Hagan is hiring a Denver-based Director of Strategy. This hybrid player-coach role leads the strategy team while managing key client relationships. You will set the strategic vision, combining behavioral insight with creative thinking to drive growth. As a senior advisor, you bring clarity, direction, and big-picture thinking that helps teams create work that resonates in today’s market.

You will lead brand narrative development, shape consumer perception, and guide the evolution of our holistic brand philosophy. You will mentor strategists, partner across disciplines, and ensure our work is grounded in insight. Your leadership will inspire long-term brand transformation and meaningful progress.

Our Denver office remains the creative center of Karsh Hagan, now connected to Madden Media’s national network of more than 300 team members with expanded analytics, technology, and nationwide reach.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Partner with senior clients to align brand and business strategy.
  • Lead strategic direction for flagship clients and shape integrated plans with Account, Media, and Creative.
  • Refine strategic planning processes and elevate communication strategy.
  • Use consumer psychology to transform challenges into strong brand solutions.

Client and Brand Strategy

  • Lead brand positioning, messaging, and strategy engagements from concept to execution.
  • Develop insight-driven briefs that inspire creative work.
  • Oversee qualitative and quantitative research to uncover behavioral insights.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews to align teams.

Team Management and Thought Leadership

  • Mentor a small team of strategists and uphold high-quality standards.
  • Improve workflows while protecting creative integrity.
  • Serve as an internal thought leader and help position the agency as an industry innovator.
  • Support new business with strategic recommendations and narrative frameworks.

Market Trends and Insight Development

  • Track cultural and industry trends to keep brands relevant.
  • Translate complex ideas into simple, actionable plans.
  • Produce strategic recommendations that support senior-level decisions.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, psychology, or a related field. Advanced degrees in consumer psychology or behavioral science are a plus.
  • Ten or more years of experience in brand strategy, consumer psychology, or account planning.
  • Strong skills in qualitative and quantitative research and insight translation.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven experience leading strategic initiatives and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.

Salary Range: 

$125,000-$150,000 commensurate with experience
