Join our pool of event volunteers! Our volunteers are mission-driven, goal-oriented team players who embrace their role and have a positive attitude. Event Volunteers should be engaging, reliable, and genuinely interested in IHDF’s mission of supporting youth success!
PURPOSE: Event Volunteers help with a variety of tasks needed for contributing to several successful fundraising and/or outreach/marketing events per year.
MISSION: Our mission is to partner with youth and their families as they successfully navigate school, college, and career by providing a holistic academic, social, and emotional program from elementary school through college, along with postsecondary scholarship assistance.
VISION: Our dream is a world where every child has equitable access to the educational and career opportunities that will ignite their innate potential.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Event Volunteers can sign up for the task that best suits them.

Setting up canopy tents, folding tables and chairs, decorations, backdrops, etc.

Packing gift bags
-
Loading supplies and transporting to the venue

Running copies of materials and keeping them stocked

Collaborating with the volunteer department team to coordinate coverage at the outreach table

Serving as an ambassador by helping us to increase external understanding of the organization’s mission, work, and needs at community events and/or with presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS:

18+ years old with reliable transportation to travel back and forth to venues throughout Boulder County

Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with community members

Submit a volunteer application

Complete a background check and undergo an in-person interview
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
-
Read and communicate effectively to complete orientation and training and to network with community members.

Ability to follow instructions

Flexible schedule – most events are late afternoons into the evening Monday-Friday, and/or weekends

Bilingual in Spanish/English is highly desirable, but not required
PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY:
Must be able to lift 20 lbs for loading and unloading supplies, pull a wagon with up to 50 lbs, and push/pull to transport materials and supplies, or a 10×10 encased canopy tent on wheels on uneven terrain.
