Position Summary
The Manager of Communications is responsible for centralizing and leading all internal and external communications, branding, and messaging for CEI Constructors. This role ensures CEI speaks with one consistent voice (“One CEI”), reinforces company culture and values, strengthens CEI’s reputation with clients and partners, and improves employee engagement, recruiting, and retention, particularly across field operations.

This position serves as the strategic communications hub for the organization, aligning leadership messaging, departmental communications, and brand evolution to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact across CEI.

Role Focus

  • Ensure major initiatives are well-planned, well-communicated, and well-received
  • Elevate CEI’s brand internally and externally

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Company Brand & Voice

  • Own, manage, and enforce CEI’s brand standards, tone, and voice
  • Ensure all internal and external communications are aligned, professional, and on-brand
  • Lead brand refresh initiatives and maintain ongoing brand governance
  • Serve as the final reviewer and approver for companywide communications

Internal Communications & Field Engagement
Develop and execute a comprehensive companywide internal communications strategy
Translate leadership priorities into clear, concise, and jobsite-friendly messaging
Drive adoption and effective use of:

  • Email communications
  • SMS / text messaging platforms
  • Visual jobsite materials (posters, signage, QR codes, bilingual content)
  • Support departments and operations with consistent daily and weekly messaging
  • Improve communication flow and alignment between office, field, and shop teams

External Communications & Reputation Management
Strengthen CEI’s external presence and reputation with:

  • Clients
  • Business partners
  • Industry and community stakeholders
  • Support consistent, professional external messaging aligned with CEI’s brand and values

Tools & Channels of Communication
The Manager of Communications owns strategy, coordination, and execution across:

  • Website and video content for internal and client purposes
  • Email communications
  • SMS / text messaging platforms
  • Newsletters
  • Social media platforms
  • Internal communication campaigns
  • Visual jobsite communication materials (web content, posters, signage, QR codes)

Key Outcomes & Performance Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Improved employee engagement and field communication effectiveness
  • Increased recruiting response rates and higher-quality applicants
  • Stronger brand consistency across all communication channels
  • Successful rollout of major initiatives with minimal confusion or resistance

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4–7+ years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, or brand leadership
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both executive leadership and craft/field workforce
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while executing hands-on
  • Experience driving change, structure, and accountability across an organization
  • Experience in construction, civil engineering, or other field-based organizations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
