Position Title:              Marketing and Fund Development Manager
Classification:             Exempt
Reports To:                  Executive Director
Location:                      Hybrid or full-time remote (from anywhere in Colorado). Must be able and willing to attend periodic meetings at Feeding Colorado food banks or other partner spaces. Workspace available at any Feeding Colorado food bank, if desired. Occasional travel expected.

Organizational Overview:

Feeding Colorado is the Partner State Association (PSA) of the five Feeding America food banks serving all of Colorado and Wyoming, including Care & Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado, Community Food Share, Food Bank for Larimer County, Food Bank of the Rockies, and Weld Food Bank. Feeding Colorado coordinates federal and state public policy engagement, manages the organization, and fosters a culture of collaboration between the food banks.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a versatile, self-directed professional who can carry both the storytelling and the revenue sides of a lean statewide association. You will shape how Feeding Colorado shows up publicly, build the fundraising infrastructure that sustains our policy and advocacy work, and coordinate closely with the communications and development teams at our five member food banks. This is a strong fit for someone who likes range: writing a donor appeal in the morning, building a legislative one-pager in the afternoon, and pulling a campaign report together before the week ends. You will have real ownership and visible impact.

Marketing and Fund Development Manager will drive the branding, public policy messaging, and collaborative storytelling for Feeding Colorado. This role acts as a critical bridge between national initiatives, statewide policy, and five regional member food banks, transforming complex hunger data into compelling narratives that inspire action across donors, legislators, and the public.

Essential Functions
Fundraising and Development (approximately 60%):

  • Research, collect data, and study findings to support potential funding opportunities; able to discern which projects are best suited for pursuit by the individual food banks.
  • Build and maintain donor records, gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting in Every Action, the donor database; ensure timely, accurate, and warm stewardship.
  • Work with Executive Director to set annual fundraising goals, and develop strategies for meeting those goals through retention of existing donors and development of new sources including corporate partnership and sponsorship development and public and private grant makers.
  • Develop and foster relationships with existing and potential funders and manage relationships in service to annual fundraising goal
  • Contribute to team and board member strategy and planning meetings
  • Maintain detailed grants calendar and accurate records in shared systems, including donor management, grant tracking and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all funder guidelines in grant submission and reporting

Communications and Marketing (approximately 40%):

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual communications calendar spanning email, website, social media, and earned media

  • Collect and synthesize compelling network data to share the impact of the Feeding Colorado network on the charitable food system
  • Manage a calendar of fundraising, marketing, and communications activities and initiatives
  • Maintain progress reports and dashboards, and provide regular, standardized, accurate reporting to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors on fundraising operations, marketing, and communications
  • Write and produce high-quality content, including newsletters, blog posts, impact stories, annual reports, and marketing materials
  • Manage and update the Feeding Colorado website and social media channels, ensuring brand voice, visual consistency, and accessibility standards
  • Serve as the primary media contact; draft press releases, maintain media lists, develop talking points, and coordinate crisis and standard inquiries with the Executive Director
  • Author and distribute educational materials, summaries, legislative testimony, fact sheets, and one-pagers regarding key federal and state legislative proposals
  • Translate hunger data, policy positions, and programmatic outcomes into clear, compelling stories for diverse audiences
  • Digital Mobilization: Support statewide advocacy campaigns through supporter recruitment, digital action alerts, and event promotion
  • Inter-Agency Alignment: Coordinate closely with the marketing and development staff at the five-member food banks to align messaging, share assets, and amplify statewide campaigns

Education and Experience:

  • Three or more years of combined experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, or communications; comparable experience in a related field will be considered.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to shift voice between donor appeal, policy brief, social post, and board memo

  • Demonstrated experience with at least one core fundraising function — annual giving, grant writing, or corporate partnerships — and willingness to learn the others
  • Comfort with digital tools: email marketing platforms, a CRM or donor database, website content management, and social media scheduling. EveryAction knowledge preferred
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to independently prioritize competing deadlines in a small-team environment
  • Ability to handle donor and organizational information with discretion
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Colorado and to work occasional evenings or weekends for events and legislative activity

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in hunger relief, food systems, human services, or public policy advocacy
  • Familiarity with the Feeding America network or food bank operations
  • Grant writing experience with foundation, corporate, or government funders
  • Basic design or multimedia skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography, or video editing)
  • Experience translating data and research into accessible public-facing materials
  • Spanish language proficiency
     

Expected Hours of Work:

This role is considered a full-time, exempt position. Work schedules may vary each week and consist of weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays

  • Anticipated salary range is $76,000-$89,000.00 annually plus benefits and eligible for annual incentive bonus
