The Resident Services Specialist at Concordia on the Lake supports residents by promoting a positive community environment. This position primarily provides exceptional customer service and assists the Resident Services Manager with coordinating events and handling various tasks around the community, including light maintenance, event setup and takedown, and other resident services duties as assigned. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, telephone, adaptability, and customer service skills, along with patience and understanding for diverse personalities. They should also demonstrate enthusiasm for planning and implementing special functions and enrichment activities in a senior community setting. We are open to both part-time and full-time candidates for this role.
Pay:
$22-$24/hour
At Concordia on the Lake, pay will fall within the posted range and will depend on your experience, education, and the specific responsibilities of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Encourage and support resident participation in community activities and events, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, with all afternoon activities scheduled to conclude no later than 6:00 PM.
- Safely operate the company’s 14-passenger shuttle for resident transportation to scheduled outings and events (training provided). Drug testing may be required prior to driving the shuttle. A valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements are required, along with a willingness and ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
- Capture and upload photos and videos to the community’s cloud-based resident engagement platform, demonstrating proficiency in scheduling software, email communication, and basic office tools.
- Assist with planning, set-up, and decoration of activity spaces and displays in alignment with company standards.
- Help residents with amenity reservations and service requests, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience while resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Gather and evaluate resident feedback to enhance services and amenities, using problem-solving skills to recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of resident services and resident requests using AppFolio.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in shared spaces, including light cleaning of areas such as the event center and office space.
- Coordinate logistics for catered events and community-led programs, anticipating potential challenges and resolving them efficiently.
- Act as the primary liaison for residents, ensuring prompt and clear communication with all departments to address needs, while maintaining a warm, approachable demeanor and a hospitality-focused mindset.
- Monitor resident behavior and report any concerns to management, applying de-escalation techniques and maintaining professionalism in challenging situations.
- Perform light cleaning in the event center, basic maintenance, and occasional lifting as part of daily responsibilities (capable of lifting 20–30 lbs., such as a bag of mulch or dirt for the resident garden planters).
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Previous experience in front-facing customer service roles is required, particularly in settings such as property management, catering, restaurants, hotels, or concierge services.
- Experience in other hospitality environments like event planning, travel services, or entertainment venues is also highly valued.
- 1–2 years of experience working with older adults and supporting social or recreational events is highly desirable.
- Background in related fields such as social work, human services, or healthcare is a plus. Familiarity with seniors’ needs and sensitivity to mobility or health challenges.
- Completion of college-level coursework in Business, Hospitality, or Management is preferred.
