Position Description

The VP of Finance and Operations serves as an integral member of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (CPRD) executive administrative team. The VP of Finance and Operations is responsible for supporting the executive team with key financial information and operational analytics and driving a culture of accountability in managingthe business while adding value to CPRD’s earned revenue streams. The VP of Finance and Operations works closely with the President & CEO to provide analytic support and carry out all financial and administrative policy functions of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. This leadership position develops knowledge and insight into the areas and issues under the President and CEO’s oversight to be able to advise, interpret policy, anticipate problems and/or take action as appropriate. The VP of Finance and Operations works in conjunction with the President & CEO and the Board of Directors to ensure the financial health and integrity of the organization.

Major Responsibilities Fiscal and Facility Management:

  • Lead annual budget planning process, including multi-year projections and cash flow management.
  • Manage day-to-day financial obligations of the organization including AR/AP, purchasing and bi-weekly payroll operations to ensure the efficient handling of employee pay and benefits.
  • Review and perform monthly reconciliations of all bank and investment statements, pledge receivables, and prepare monthly financial reporting package including the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Statement of Cash Flows. Complete quarterly payroll reconciliation
  • Coordinate with Executive team to accurately track gifts from individual donors, foundations, specialevent and rental income, ticket and tuition revenues and other earned revenue sources.
  • Prepare financial reports and reimbursement invoices as specified in grant awards.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state and federal financial reporting requirements including 1099s,941s, W2s, and periodic updates for IRS and Secretary of State to maintain nonprofit status.
  • Manage the coordination and timely completion of the annual independent audit, including verifyingthe accuracy and completeness of the Audit Report and Form 990.
  • Manage Director of Theater Sales and Operations, accountant and supervise all facility vendorsincluding maintenance and cleaning contracts.
  • Oversee a sound risk management program through vendor support and contract negotiation(maintenance/cleaning, copier lease, external venue).
  • Coordinate CPRD’s calendar insurance renewals, compliance filings and claims management.
  • Ensure that personnel and agency policies/practices meet all applicable employment laws; assure that pay and benefit structures remain relevant and competitive.
  • Recommend measures to improve cost savings and financial performance CPRD’s

primary earned revenue sources.

Qualifications

  • Proven record for strong ability to assess information, practices, and procedures, identify relevantconcerns, formulate logical conclusions and recognize the implications of alternatives
  • Ability to understand and apply basic accounting principles
  • Solid analytical skills to read, interpret and prepare reports
  • Business management experience – 4 or more years – required
  • Demonstrated metrics for success
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and unwavering standards of personal and professional integrity
  • Ability to exercise personal accountability in all activities and decisions
  • Works well in a team environment and with people at various levels in the organization

  • Must be able to work and set priorities independently to effectively balance competing deadlines
  • Commitment to handling sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks

Class and Compensation:

Full time
Salary Range: $85,000 – $93,000 
CPRD offers a comprehensive employee benefits program:
