What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hourly range for this position is $31.65-$49.06. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
In this position you can expect to work on site at Red Rocks Amphitheatre – Monday thru Friday 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. during the active concert season (March- November) and at the Denver Coliseum – Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the Coliseum’s active event season (November- March)
What You’ll Do
As an Agency of the City and County of Denver, DAV is a social-cultural enterprise, operating a business model that raises revenue through the operation of iconic venues and then invests that revenue in venue improvements and maintenance, arts programs, community grants, and free cultural amenities for Denver residents.
Venues in DAV’s portfolio include the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the country's largest performing arts center under one roof, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, as well as the historic Denver Coliseum, the recently refurbished McNichols Civic Center Building, and the state-of-the-art Colorado Convention Center.
As part of its enterprising model, DAV reinvests surplus revenue into maintenance and capital improvements of its facilities and into cultural programs that impact more than 4.23 million Denver residents and regional visitors annually, including programs such as the Five Points Jazz Festival, Urban Arts Fund, SCFD Tier III grant administration, PS You Are Here, and McNichols Cultural Partner programs. It also administers the 1% public art program, a collection of 400 artworks and growing.
Denver Arts and Venues is seeking a Video Technician to join our team!
The Video Technician:
- Performs intermediate level skilled work in setting up, operating, and striking the various equipment used for IMAG operations, video filming, recording and distribution
- Operates and utilizes production and recording equipment required to successfully film, record, and distribute video products and programs
- Performs testing of audio-visual equipment and fixes issues related to video, audio, switching, and control systems
- Assists in keeping all studio and peripheral equipment in good working operation and repairs, replaces, or ships out to repair any equipment that has malfunctioned
- Research new equipment and systems to determine operational feasibility within the specific work environment
- Creates and maintains engineer workflow processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs); trains staff in the proper operation of video production and test equipment
- Provides support in developing, implementing, and testing equipment updates and system firmware upgrades
- Performs end-user training on specific software applications and interfaces requiring client interaction
- Assists in system solutions analysis, design, development, and testing activities; Develops and maintains configuration policies and procedures. Reviews and recommends changes to existing configuration processes
- Responds to after-hours calls or emergency calls outside normal scheduled or business hours; performs other duties as assigned
* Note that during the Coliseum season, this role will act more as a traditional AV Technician.

Our ideal candidate also has knowledge of:
- Industry wide audio, video and networking terminology and concepts
- Industry wide standards for terminating typical AV and IT related cabling/connectors.
- Industry wide testing equipment used in the AV and IT related environments.
- Web-based control, CATV, IP camera and access control systems
- Post-production video editing software, electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance
- Safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment for self and others
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HISET or TASC Certificate
- Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of audiovisual installations, testing, repairing, and maintenance
- Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
- Licensure: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application
