As a senior internal communications specialist, you’ll play a key role in connecting our people to PCL’s purpose. You’ll help develop and execute strategies that support internal priorities while aligning with broader business goals. Working closely with communicators, operational leaders, and teams across the U.S., and alongside our global marketing and communications group—you’ll help deliver thoughtful, high-impact messaging that drives engagement and supports our shared success.

This position reports to the internal communications manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing internal communication plans that support business goals and maintain brand integrity
  • Lead research, planning and execution of targeted communication initiatives
  • Write and edit internal announcements, intranet content, speaking notes, executive memos, newsletters, award submissions and toolkits
  • Support strategic initiatives and department communication
  • Advance engagement strategies for non-wired employees
  • Build strong relationships with internal clients to align messaging and support key business priorities
  • Measure and report on key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness and improve outcomes  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field.
  • 6-9 years of experience in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Expert in AP writing style and superb verbal, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing measurable strategic communications programs.
  • Experience creating engaging content. SharePoint intranet publishing a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and team-focused with the ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Willingness to travel and work with teams across the U.S. and Canada. Travel will account for approximately 10% of the position.

The hiring range for this position is between $85,000 and $100,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
